Our COVID-19 Action Plan

Posted March 13, 2020

At C&K Holdings, the safety and well-being of our employees and our customers is always our priority, and we recognize the important role we play in providing our AV Logistics, C&K Trucking, and Skyline customers with supply chain services during this critical time. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19/Coronavirus situation and taking steps to help keep our communities safe and our operations effective. We wanted to share with you some steps we are taking.

Aligning with public health authorities
We have a team dedicated to our response to this pandemic and have Business Continuity Plans to ensure the continuation of our services. We are closely monitoring updates from the Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, and local governmental agencies in each of our markets regarding COVID-19. We will continue to seek guidance from these agencies, public health officials and government agencies on an ongoing basis.

Protecting our employees
As our employees interact with customers and the general public, we have taken steps to limit exposure to the virus. We have put restrictions on travel, are postponing large-scale events, limiting the size of meetings, providing remote-work solutions, and continue to reinforce safe behavior in every environment – from customer homes and businesses to our terminals and offices, where we have ramped up cleaning.

We are in continuous communication with our employees reminding them about the importance of good hygiene, providing them with health education and support whenever needed. Employees who feel ill have been told to not report to work and we have specific quarantine and communication procedures in place should an employee be diagnosed with COVID-19 or is asked to self-isolate by a public health authority, and to provide comprehensive benefits to support them.

Our commitment to our customers and our communities
We realize our role in the supply chain is incredibly important in times like these.  We have been investing in technology to meet the growing demands of our “always online” culture, and this includes having in place proper contingency plans to ensure service continuity for you, our customers.  Several of the key initiatives include:

  • All of our key employees have remote access capabilities and have the ability to work from home or a remote location.
  • All of our drivers have remote access through cell phones and tablets and we are able to communicate and dispatch to them remotely as well.
  • Our management team is in constant communication to address issues as they arise.
  • We are increasing our communication lines with our customers, employees, drivers, and vendors during this crisis.

As conditions improve
Once conditions have improved, we are aware of concerns about the ability to support a spike in volumes involving North American supply chains. C&K Holdings is working closely with our partners to ensure that resources are positioned where they will be needed most. In this effort, we would like to remind customers to please share information on anticipated volumes with your C&K Holdings representative as frequently as possible. With your ongoing collaboration, we are confident that we have the equipment, facilities and other resources ready to handle an expected demand surge in the coming weeks.

While we are hoping for the best, we are preparing for the worst. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact your sales or operations personnel or reach out to me directly at 312-617-7470. We are accessible 24/7. Thank you and take care.

Sincerely,

Mike Burton
